What to practise.

Everything there is to type here, in the order it gets harder. Single keys first, then whole words, then sentences that grow from one short line to a full paragraph โ€” each one a real sentence a child could actually write, not a drill of random letters.

What the lessons cover

Difficulty here is mostly length. A stage does not introduce new rules to memorise; it asks the child to hold accuracy together for longer, which is the thing that actually gets harder as you learn to touch-type. The shortest sentence lesson is a single short line and the longest runs to a full paragraph, and every one of them uses all the letters, so no finger is left unpractised at any stage.

Characters

Home row and single keys. Where a child starts if they have never touched a keyboard: find the key, use the right finger, and let the finger guide show which one.

StageLessonsLength to type
Level 1339โ€“47 characters
Level 2455โ€“103 characters
Level 3163 characters

Words

Whole words, one at a time. Short enough to finish before concentration runs out, long enough to stop being a key hunt.

Level 2947โ€“57 characters
Level 3551โ€“63 characters

Sentences

Complete sentences, growing by stage. This is the bulk of the site: real writing, read aloud word by word, with the meaning spoken in your language at the end.

About the lessons

Which lesson should a beginner start with?
The first Characters lesson, if the keyboard is new. A child who can already find the keys can skip straight to the Sentences stages โ€” the lessons are ordered, but nothing is locked, so you can start anywhere.
What makes a later lesson harder?
Length, mostly. Early sentences are one short line; the last stages run to a full paragraph. Holding accuracy over a long passage is a different skill from typing a short one, and it is the skill that carries over to real writing.
Do the lessons teach English, or typing?
Typing, with English along the way. The typing target is always English, but every word is read aloud as it is finished and the whole sentence is translated at the end, so a child practising the keyboard also hears what they just wrote.
Do I need to do them in order?
No. The order is a suggestion, not a gate. Every lesson is a standalone sentence, so you can jump to whatever stage matches what the child can already do.
