Privacy notice
Tanepo is designed to be used without accounts and without collecting personal information from children.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for or store names, email addresses, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, location, photos, or voice recordings.
On-device settings and challenge history
Your language, sound on/off, keyboard layout (US or JIS) and typing options are stored in your browser only. So is your timed-challenge history — the last 50 runs with their date and time — which stays on the device and is never uploaded. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.
Practice results
When a lesson is finished, an anonymous record is sent to our server: which lesson, the reading language, how long it took, keystrokes, mistakes, accuracy, words per minute, and which keys were mistyped. That is all. No name, no IP address, no browser fingerprint, nothing that identifies who typed it, and the records are never linked to each other. We use them to see which lessons are too hard and whether children improve.
